Colorado College senior Tiffany Calabaza (front row, third from the right) and other White House Native American Youth Champions were honored at the White House in December. Tiffany was named a Champion of Change for helping to bring renewable energy technology to her hometown of Kewa, N.M. Calabaza, an environmental chemistry major, worked with Chemistry Professor Sally Meyer and Kewa tribal members to convert a community windmill into a solar water pumping station.

Colorado College English major Brad Limov ’12 collaborated with Assistant <a href="http://www2.coloradocollege.edu/dept/EN/">English</a> Professor Steven Hayward in the making of a book trailer for Hayward’s novel, “Don’t Be Afraid.” The trailer was done with the help of a <a href="http://www2.coloradocollege.edu/resources/dean/VentureGrants/">Venture Grant</a> proposal titled “Book Trailer for Steven Hayward's ‘Don't Be Afraid’: Exploring the Uses of Video to Interpret and Represent Literature.” Limov read the book in August, adapted it into a 3½-minute script in September, shot it from October to December, and edited it over the holiday break and throughout January. The trailer marks the fact the book is now available in paperback.
